EA Partners to Publish Portal 2

EA and Valve have announced that the third-party distribution division of EA “EA Partners” will be in charge of retail distribution for Portal 2. This move leaves Valve free to concentrate on the online distribution and marketing, while still giving the game it’s much deserved retail push.

“ Portal 2 is Valve’s most innovative title in the company’s history and will be launched with a first-class launch campaign this April,” said Doug Lombardi, vice president of marketing at Valve. “We’re excited to be working with Electronic Arts to deliver this title as we expand our platform strategy to include the Mac and PlayStation 3 platforms.”

Named Spike’s “Most Anticipated Game of 2011,” Portal 2 will offer a fresh set of puzzles, new test chambers in never-before-seen areas of Aperture Science Labs and reunite players with GLaDOS, the homicidal A.I. unit from the original Portal. The game’s all-new co-operative mode will feature its own unique campaign and characters, and will force players to both act and think together.

Portal 2 is slated for an April 21, 2025 release on the PC, Xbox 360, PS3 and Mac platforms.
