Releasing this week on Guitar Hero 5 and Band Hero are three tracks from the Los Angeles-based band 30 Seconds to Mars. The DLC tracks features “Attack” and “From Yesterday” off of their platinum selling sophomore album A Beautiful Life along with “Kings and Queens”, the first single from This is War released late last year. 30 Seconds to Mars, formed by Jared and Shannon Leto, made their debut in 2002 and were met with immediate success with their “post-grunge” and “melodic hard rock” style.
Half-time during any football game, especially during the Super Bowl, is a great time to stock up on more booze, cook some more food or purge, but with The Who scheduled to perform you might want to actually stick around. I know I won’t be missing this year’s half-time show but if you happen to miss it don’t worry, you can play it on Rock Band immediately after the game. That’s right, Harmonix and MTV will be bringing you a “special version” of the performance which you will see on Sunday. (more…)
If you’re looking forward to the Ultimate Edition of Zeno Clash for XBLA, then you’ll enjoy this video, which shows off the new attacks found in this updated version.
“Initially, ACE Team had offered to demonstrate the new moves in Zeno Clash: Ultimate Edition in person for the Atlus staff,” chuckled a grimacing Aram Jabbari, Manager of Public Relations and Sales for Atlus. “We all thought they were kidding when they talked about cool-sounding moves like the ‘headbutt’ and ’spin kick.’ After a week in the hospital, I’m happy to say that fans can expect to find those and equally punishing new attacks in Zeno Clash: Ultimate Edition, and that the moves deliver the same satisfyingly visceral feel as all the other injury-inducing first-person melee combat Zeno Clash has to offer. In other good news, the doctor says the swelling on my head will go away in about a month or so.”
For more info on the game, which is set to release March 30, 2010, exclusively for XBox Live Arcade, check out http://www.zenoclash.com, or scroll down for an ACE Team roundtable interview, discussing frequently asked questions about the upcoming title.
If the delayed release of Dementium II has you down, don’t worry, horror fans, because you might want to keep an eye on the soon-to-be released title Deadly Premonition.
The story behind the Red Seed Murders in the game Deadly Premonitionbegins to unravel further in the rural town of Greenvale, with the introduction of the inquisitive Ingram Twins in this week’s character trailer. The survival horror title and Xbox 360 exclusive arrives February 23, 2010. (more…)
This Friday we’ll be joining some of the 2K Marin development team to poke and prod them about anything BioShock 2. We’d love to give our readers a chance to send in any questions they’d like us to cattle prod or stump the team with, that way we get the information you all would actually take interest in hearing about. BioShock 2 being only one week away from its February 9th release date, would you kindly share your curiosity and interest in BioShock 2?
Fan of Disgaea? Enjoy the errant visual novel? Me too! But this post isn’t about me. It’s about Disgaea Infinite, NIS America’s next entry into the lighthearted yet ridiculously deep strat-RPG series. Except this time around, there’s no strategy to be found. It’s a visual novel! I’m just as surprised as you are, but most definitely intrigued. (more…)
Oinkers being used as weapons? When pigs fly! Er, maybe not — maybe they’ll be flying at the release of American McGee’s sequel to the original, fantastic Alice. According to the developer’s Twitter account, we could possibly see adorable pigs utilized in some form of combat. Of course, whether he’s joking or completely serious is anyone’s guess. Check out the enigmatic tweet below or head on over to American McGee’s personal Twitter account as more details could arise. SouthPeak Games is happy to announce that Blood Bowl has shipped to retail shelves throughout North America. The upcoming fantasy sports title is set to release next week for Windows PC and the Xbox 360. With the Super Bowl just around the corner, there is no better way to get ready for the big game than with a football game that features fantasy creatures from Warhammer. Yeah it sounds strange but this ultraviolent sports game is sure to bring in football fans and those who shun away from sports games.
Electronic Arts recently announced the development of a free-to-play downloadable game titled EA Sports FIFA Online. Similar to their recent web based Tiger Woods Title gamers don’t have to install much to play the game; however FIFA Online at this point will require a download and will run as a separate program rather than in a web browser. Starting February 3rd football fans across Europe will have first access to the closed beta to help shape the online title. (more…)

Capcom announced yesterday that they would be bringing over the nearly classic Mega Man Zero Collection to our favorite little clam shell. Said collection includes Mega Man Zero 1-4, originally released as Game Boy Advance games back in the early 00’s. It was a simpler time, a time of PlayStation 2’s and this weird little thing they called an Xbox. But these games were far from simple. For one, they did not star series hero Mega Man but in fact featured a swanky fella that we first saw back in Mega Man X called Zero. He had flair, a killer haircut, and a sword-type thing. Apparently he proved popular enough in the vanilla series to get himself his own spin-off, and it worked because the Mega Man Zero games were actually quite highly regarded in each of their renditions.
As a quick background, the Mega Man Zero games featured Zero freshly awoken some 100 years after his last appearance to find a world of innocent reploids under unfair attack by an organization darkly known as Neo Arcadia. They’re certainly no Dr. Wily, but they prove a menacing enough foe. The second game is basically more of the same. As is 3, and 4. I mean, it’s always a little different, but whenever you enter into this type of world you know pretty much what to expect. The action is all classic 2D Mega Man side-scrolling action, with power ups and boss battles galore. There won’t be anything new to this package, but shoving four games into one box and selling it for a quarter of the price than it probably originally cost fans is a boon indeed. And for those wondering if these Mega Mans pack the punch of the newest versions of classic Mega Man hitting WiiWare, XBLA, and PSN, let me assure you, they aren’t easy. No word yet on use of the touch or dual screens.
Fans of the series unfamiliar with the Mega Man Zero games should definitely check this out. I personally think these games play great on a handheld, much like the slew of Castlevanias do. The only real question will be how dated this particular port of Mega Man-ness will feel, but given the popularity of the downloadable games I’d say it’ll do just fine.

Want some freakishly bouncy-bright cuteness in your Arkanoid? UK developer Strawdog Studios have announced a game to fit the bill. Space Ark, releasing in the spring, has you bouncing animals around to collect various items. You know how you bounce around a ball to break bricks in Arkanoid, yeah, the cute little animals are the balls. (more…)
Often we find ourselves disappointed by collector’s editions, as evidenced by a lackluster European Final Fantasy 13 CE recently announced. What each gamer expects from these special editions vary, but it’s a reasonable assumption that we want “stuff.” Aksys Games is prepared to give gamers stuff. In fact, stuff, or stuffed, is a very appropriate word to use for this particular collector’s edition of Record of Agarest War… (more…)
The Last Rebellion is an RPG from NIS America that isn’t getting a whole lot of press. We can blame Mass Effect 2 or Final Fantasy 13 for this certainly, or we can even blame a waning interest in JRPGs in general. What we probably shouldn’t ignore is that another RPG with some major potential is heading to the PS3, and given the strong output of Nippon Ichi over the years, I for one am taking heed. Sure, they haven’t been pure gold (A Witch’s Tale, though decent, needed work), but they’ve been solid.
The Last Rebellion follows protagonists Nine and Aisha. Nine is a Blade, who can kill things physically, and Aisha is a Sealer, who can kill things spiritually (like most women!). In short, they’re summoned to a kingdom in need to sort out some monster issues, there’s some gods and goddesses, typical JRPG stuff. There’s more to it, but that’s just the gist. World exploration is free range and combat is turn-based, but also involved in that players don’t just choose an action and end their turn. Rather, certain body parts can be targeted, Aisha and Nine can be used alternatively or exclusively, etc. The game looks beautiful, as the trailer and screens can testify below, and bears a lovely resemblance to Tales of Vesperia and even the Wii and Gamecube versions of Fire Emblem.
The game, in a shocking turnaround, will release in the states a mere month after it’s Japanese introduction, possibly even less, with a vague hint at February. With a January 28th release in Japan, that’s quick localization! Hopefully not too quick. Though some of the passion for JRPGs might be leaving western shores, I know myself and a few others are glancing with hopeful eyes towards this February horizon.
