Call of Duty: Black Ops to Lack Co-op Campaign

As with the past Call of Duty titles, Black Ops will not feature a co-op campaign mode. MTV Multiplayer Blog reports that Treyarch studio head Mark Lamia said that the main campaign will remain single-player only, although the game will still offer “unique co-op modes” in addition to the usual multiplayer modes.

What are these unique co-op modes? Well it’s not like Spec Ops from Modern Warfare 2, apparently. So no co-op campaign, no Spec Ops co-op missions; what else could there be? Perhaps we’ll see a return of zombies from Treyarch’s World at War, or we’ll get something completely out of the ordinary.

    Another reason to dislike Treyarch!

WHAT! That was one of the best parts of WaW — being able to trek through it in co-op. Disappointed. T_T I'm sure zombies will return since it's become like a Treyarch icon now, but my co-op… I was hoping it'd go four player actually this time around. :

  • Treyarch rules says:

They were the ones who introduced it idiot they have every right to or not to include it

  • TheHerp says:

Actually i think they don't have the right to not include it. As the ones who introduced it I think they should be forced to have a 4 player co-op campaign mode with every game they release. To me not including it is a giant step back even if they are going to give us other co-op modes. I was looking forward to playing the campaign with 3 other people because very few shooters allow you to do that. What happened to you Treyarch, you used to be cool.

  • Tigresa says:

Seriously, exactly. We don't have time to be going backward with gaming. Four player co-op will be a huge draw to the game and it needs it to both set it apart and make it go above and beyond. What's the point in publishing something “good” but not “everything it could and should be” - ? Co-op or die!

Who to start it as a 4 player co-op I think they play with every release should be forced to campaign mode. I have included a huge back to us even if they are going to give the other co-op mode step. I look forward to playing with 3 other people drive, because very few shooters that you have permission to do so was looking for. What happened to Treyarch, you used to be cool.
