VIZIO Partnership Brings OnLive To More Living Rooms

Although OnLive just started shipping last month, they have announced a new partnership with VIZIO, integrating the cloud gaming service directly into televisions, tablets, Smart Phones and Blu-ray players. The partnership was announced today at the International 2011 Consumer Electroics Show and VIZIO had a showroom to demonstrate the new integrated televisions.

The CEO and Founder of OnLive, Steve Perlman said:

“Today’s OnLive/VIZIO announcement marks a major milestone: for the first time in the history of video games, consumers will be able to enjoy premium video games directly on a TV, no console or computer needed. VIZIO’s innovative and cutting-edge technologies are ideally aligned to complement OnLive’s vision for the future of entertainment and together we look forward to providing a wealth of rich-media, interactive content to consumers this year.”

Although a specific time as to when these new OnLive integrated devices would be made available to the general public was not given, they did state they would be made available to consumers later this year.
