Hulu Plus Gets Price Cut

Hulu Plus made its official debut last week after being in Preview/Beta mode for a few months. Today it was announced that Hulu is cutting down the subscription fee for Hulu Plus from $9.99 to $7.99. Those who took part in the preview service will receive credit for the price difference. This puts the streaming service on par with the Netflix subscription fee.
More and more streaming services are becoming available and the price cut speaks to the stiff competition Hulu is facing. While Hulu Plus allows users to stream the most current television shows and episodes there are still many networks and shows that have yet to appear on Hulu Plus. Sources tell Reuters that Hulu is aiming to raise $200 million to $300 million in a public offering which would then allow them to purchase more content and licenses. If that were to happen it would but the company value at $2 billion.
The Hulu Plus streaming service allows users to stream Hulu content on various devices that includes: iDevices, PlayStation 3, select televisions and coming soon to the Xbox 360. Head over to the Hulu Plus home page to find out more about the service and to sign up for a one week free trial.
