Don’t mind the image, it’s just a concept of the original PSP. But if that is what the new PSP looks like than sign me up. 1Up broke the news that Sony will be announcing the new redesign at E3 this year. The rumored PSP Go! (as is the rumored name as well.) is said to might have a “slide out” or “flip open” mechanic bringing it more in line with the Nintendo DS in terms of… uh… flippity-ness. It’s also said it will be sans a UMD drive, have 8-16Gb of internal memory, and possibly a touchscreen. The “Go!” name makes sense as Sony has a line of accessories in the UK with the “Go!” branding such as the “Go! Cam.”

The system is expected to drop this holiday season in both Japan and North America.
