ALT+F4: Bound in Blood Demo, ARMA II Expands, and WoW Reminisces
Today brings with it a demo for Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood, to tempt anyone who has been considering the title since it was released earlier this year. ARMA II is heading to Takistan with new expansion ARMA II: Operation Arrowhead. World of Warcraft is making some old content a little more beefy in time for the 5th anniversary, by cranking Onyxia up a few notches for current players. This slow news day is brought to you by me getting to play mechanic all day, so look for some additional PC gaming goodness over the weekend.
Check it all out, after the jump.
Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood Demo Available
Anyone who has been holding out on the sequel to Techland’s western themed narrative driven first person shooter Call of Juarez can now try out the demo version. Having just finished this myself in the last couple of days, I’d definitely recommend giving the demo a go before you take the leap and purchase it, although you can probably find it for a reduced price somewhere or other.
And if you want a solid opinion on the game, be sure to check out Molotov Cupcake’s review right here.
Download the demo at FileFront or Gamer’s Hell. Alternatively, it’s available on both XBOX Live, as well as PSN.
ARMA II Expansion: Bugs Invade Middle-East
Bohemia Interactive is bringing the military simulator action to a relevant environment with ARMA II: Operation Arrowhead. This expansion moves from the fictional country of Chernarus to the new fictional country Takistan. The expansion will be of the stand alone variety, allowing you to get in on the complex action regardless of whether or not you own the original title.
“Set into the new, visually attractive environment of hilly central Asia, Operation Arrowhead will offer realistic combat simulation experience in a modern day setting with unprecedented freedom of movement, actions and tactics. Players will enlist into various roles within the US Army, from basic infantrymen, through special operatives, to pilots and tank crew in this new installment in the award winning line up of military simulators for PC from Bohemia Interactive.”
I really enjoyed the demo of ARMA II, but all the complaints of bugs prevented me from purchasing it. I might have to give this one a go if they get everything ironed out.

World of Warcraft Fires up the Nostalgia
Blizzard has announced plans to revamp good ol’ Onyxia with patch 3.2.2, to coincide with the 5th anniversary of fantasy themed virtual heroin. The plans are to ramp Onyxia up from being something most anyone can stroll in and smack to death with a sword into a 10 or 25 man raid. What is interesting (or lazy, depending on your perspective) is that all of the new loot is going to be updated models of the classic loot from the encounter.
I hate to say it, but as someone who never really was too much into World of Warcraft after the first expansion was released, this sort of thing makes me want to get back into it. It would be great to see all of the old raids from yesteryear be updated to be relevant to current players. They plan on tossing it up on the PTR to get any kinks ironed out, so look for it in the near future.

It’s crazy to think that Bound in Blood is JUST NOW receiving a PC demo when I had the game a month ago.

Techland just took their sweet time getting a demo out there, I believe it also went up on XBL and PSN today as well. Hopefully it sells some more copies for them, I really enjoyed the game.

Don’t lie, you wouldn’t play ArmA even if the bugs were squashed.
