Dyson Set to Colonize Retail
Dyson is described by its creators, Rudolf Kremers and Alex May as an “Ambient real-time strategy game with abstract visuals.” A description recognized as very modest by those that have spent some time with the game, or an inordinate amount of time as the case may be. The game originally spawned as an entry in the Procedural Generation Competition, this is a pretty amazing thing to consider while playing what seems to be a perfectly planned and thought out level. There lies a deceptive depth to this RTS game, hidden behind the clean minimalist visuals. Hopefully that depth will soon be exposed to a larger market.
Dyson is currently available gratis, for anyone to check out. But soon it will be making the jump for retail, the makers having found a home for it on a variety of digital distribution platforms including Direct2Drive, Steam and their own website. Judging by some of the early screenshots of the retail version, colors seem to be more saturated, offering a nice fresh look to the game. The devs have mentioned implementing a save feature which any player of the original will greatly appreciate. Details should continue rolling in as the game continues the course to its July 31st release.

Gratis = good, and more coverage on indie games is ALWAYS a win-win, in my opinion.
