It’s always interesting to take a look at what titles round out the top 10 most played games on Xbox Live and what it says about the Xbox community. Since the release of Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4, they’ve both shared some time at the top spot. Same can be said about Call of Duty: World at War, but a little game called Modern Warfare 2 released on November 10th and it should be no surprise to anyone that it became the most played game on Xbox Live.

In recent weeks Halo 3 held the number one spot, mainly due to the new maps but this week it went from 1st to 3rd and Call of Duty 4 came in at 2nd. So why are people still playing COD4 during the first week of the MW2 release? Maybe it’s cause those people have yet to get the game or maybe it’s cause they feel that COD4 has a better multiplayer experience than MW2. Who knows? You can’t look too much into this but if the trend continues maybe MW2 MP isn’t as good as everyone thinks. We’ll have to wait till next weeks numbers to find out. Other games that round that the top 10 include the L4D2 demo, FIFA 10, Halo 3: ODST and Gears of War 2. Check out the full list along with the top arcade games and original Xbox titles being played.
