I am continually amazed by Sony’s paradoxical nature. On the one hand, they give us fantastic products like the PS3 and PSP and games that strike joy into the hearts of millions. And then they release things like what is pictured to the left. What you’re seeing here isn’t some symbiotic alien lifeform sucking the electricity from that helpless PSP Go. It’s actually Sony’s “prototype” converter cable. I suppose that means it’s not a 100% sure thing that we’ll see it in a ridiculously difficult to open hard plastic case soon, but man I hope we do. I will get a great, booming laugh every time I’m walking through the store and happen to look over at it.

Its function is practical, unlike its form. It allows users to plug in existing peripherals that they may have purchased for their real PSP. Why they didn’t just include plug ins for said peripherals in the design of this PSP Go is a mystery I suppose (probably to save space for more….more…?). Regardless, there are going to be things you may own that require you to buy the monstrosity in that picture. I personally wouldn’t unless you wish your children or future children to be scarred for life by the evil snake eating his or her video game. But for those of a hardier constitution, it will always give a laugh. So enjoy!

I sometimes think there’s like, this group of pure awesomely talented guys at Sony, and without them the company would sink like a fat chick who just spotted a krispy cream at the bottom of the pool, and the other 75% of the staff are founders’ sons or something.
