Review: TouchMaster Connect
The fourth title in the TouchMaster series on the Nintendo DS, TouchMaster Connect, not only brings twenty arcade-style games but also the ability to brag about your highest scores across Facebook or Twitter. Does Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment have a hit for gamers of all ages and types on its hands? Well, it is certain that this is a game more for the casual sort with the different categories.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has released a new Mortal Kombat trailer, titled "Shadows," featuring many recognizable fighters such as Raiden and Scorpion fighting... except you can only see their shadows. Even so, you'll see blood squirting and someone getting impaled and whatnot, all to the tune of Disturbed's "Another Way to Die." Disturbed is providing the soundtrack to the game. Following last year's innovative puzzler, Super Scribblenauts is a sequel with adjectives in the mix and a greatly improved control scheme that should fix the major problems in last year's Scribblenauts. Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has released a new trailer for Gamescom '10, and it highlights some of the new features. Too bad some of the more interesting adjectives will probably not be in the game... you know, to be safe for the children. Anyway, check out the trailer after the jump to find out you can do "fire breathing alien" and "powerful cheetah" instead of just "alien" or "cheetah."
The Lord of the Rings Online Going to Free-to-Play
Starting in the fall, Turbine and Warner Bros. are making the Lord of the Rings Online free-to-play, meaning anyone can choose to download the game and fight in Middle-earth without paying a single dime (well, except the electricity and Internet access). With this move also comes the additions of the LOTRO Store and the VIP program. The change in LOTRO’s pricing model comes from the success of Dungeons and Dragons Online: Eberron Unlimited, which “validated the extraordinary demand by gamers for quality entertainment they can experience at their own pace and within their budget.”

5th Cell had a lot of expectations to meet, a lot of hopes and dreams to fulfill in the hearts of gamers everywhere. With an incredible amount of buzz surrounding this little DS title at E3, including the famous NeoGAF post by Feep describing using a dinosaur to defeat robot zombies, Scribblenauts has been described as creative, ingenious, and inspiring. Of course, with this much hype comes the possibility of disappointment. In the end, is Scribblenauts what we all had expected? For the most part, yes. Is it what we wanted? Not exactly. Scribblenauts, although having an excellent concept and providing lots of fun, suffers from frustrating control issues that often detract from the experience and well, the fun. (more...)
