Review: Dead Space: Ignition

With Dead Space 2 on the horizon, Visceral Games and co-developer Sumo Digital decided to let eager fans in on a little "bonus" while awaiting the post-Christmas launch. That "bonus" is Dead Space: Ignition, a motion comic-styled puzzle game on Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network. I repeatedly quote "bonus" because it's more of a digital crime to the rock solid Dead Space brand, than any bonus I've ever received. The game is set at the high price of free for pre-orderers of Dead Space 2, and $4.99 (PSN) / 400 MSP (XBLA) for those holding out on their pre-order action.

Impressions: Dead Space 2 Multiplayer Beta

One could say that the Dead Space series is Visceral Games' flagship. The team put a lot of work into the original title (which is one of my favorite games of all time), and they are showing the same if not a stronger dedication to the sequel Dead Space 2. That being said, there are still a few questions regarding the game's recently-announced multiplayer mode. Does it still feel like Dead Space? Is it scary? Above all, does it show the same polish players expect from the series, or does it merely feel tacked-on?

Dead Space 2 Multiplayer Invites Out in the Wild

Last night, EA and Visceral Games sent out to a select number of individuals to provide feedback on the multiplayer component of Dead Space 2. Beta players will have the opportunity to play with some of the development team, but we are assuming that more beta invites will be rolling out over the next couple of weeks for server stress tests and optimizations of the overall experience.

The beta is exclusive to the PlayStation 3 as of right now with no word if one will be for the Xbox 360 or PC. The game releases on January 25th, 2011, but if you want a chance at getting into the beta head over to their Facebook page.

A lot of big games have already had some showings at this year's E3. Of all of them, even of whats passed and still only potential, I couldn't be more excited for any game over Dead Space 2. Two Brains Review: Dante’s Inferno

Everyone knows the old saying – “Two heads are better than one.” For the most part, it’s true. Get more people thinking about something, and everyone benefits – you get more and different opinions that might help you shape the way you think about… well, anything. It’s with this mindset that we go into our Two Brains review, where Molotov Cupcake and Snarkasaur have had a meeting of the minds to discuss Dante's Inferno for the both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Dante’s Inferno Demo Drops in December

Electronic Arts Inc. and Visceral Games want you to go to Hell. ...in their new game, Dante's Inferno. The new action/adventure title is slated for a February 9th, 2010 release, but Visceral Games has recently announced that a demo will become available sometime in December for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles. The demo will contain the first level of Dante's Inferno, titled "Gates of Hell". Players will be introduced to the core gameplay mechanics and the titular hero (seeing as how Dante's Inferno is based on "The Divine Comedy"), as well as plot and thematic elements in game. The title will see Dante traverse through the nine levels of Hell, heading towards his inevitable fight against Lucifer. As the executive producer of the game Jonathan Knight has said, "Our main goal from the start of this project has been to create a journey that will make gamers truly feel like they are going through hell." I assume
