Tokyo Game Show is almost upon us, can you believe it’s already next week!? The first two days (September 16-17) are business-only days and the following two days (September 18-19) will be open to the public. Capcom has announced their lineup of what games they’re bringing with them. I’m a little surprised though, I was expecting a little something more, really. We’ve pretty much seen these games quite a bit now already. Hopefully they have some more secrets under wraps. Check out the list below for Capcom’s 2010 TGS lineup. (more…)

The Tokyo Game Show is returning on September 16, and we can hope for some major announcements to be made at the event, or at least some awesome gameplay to be shown. Konami, Level-5, Sega, and Tecmo-Koei have announced their lineups for the show, although it isn’t known which are playable and which will be presented in video form. Some notable familiars are Metal Gear Solid: Rising from Konami and Sonic Colors from Sega, but you can check after the break for the full list.

armyoftwo-40thday_logoGo back-to-back with a buddy in the latest screenshot roundup of Army of Two: The 40th Day from Tokyo Game Show ‘09. I think one of my favorite things about all the Army of Two shots I see are their awesome getups and masks. I loved being able to switch ‘em up in the first game to increase my style in all forms of badassery. What do you all think about the awesome character styles of AoT? I’m going to need a soldier that can hold his own when the sequel launches on January 12, 2010. (Seems like it got a plague of the delay treatment…)

See below for a roundup of the latest in Army of Two shield-bearing hulk shots!

For the Japanese, it hasn’t been long since they’ve gotten an opportunity to lose countless hours hunched over their DS handhelds, enveloped in the wonderful world of Dragon Quest (remember, that little title called “DQ IX” sold a mere 2-3 million copies within its first week). Looks like the next in the series is already on the horizon and is playable at the Tokyo Game Show this week.

RoF_01As if Sega were able to sense my dire need for a fix on the latest in Resonance of Fate (or End of Eternity as it’s titled in Japan), a new trailer has emerged from Tokyo Game Show! It’s all CG but the character models are just gorgeous. I hope when we get our hands our the real game (and not just sitting quietly while the reps play it in front of you like last time…!) that these characters are put to good use and developed well. Lately, JRPGs have been rather lacking when it comes to story and character development these past few years. Check out the trailer below! Did he just stab himself in the chest…?!

148270-disgaeaThe Tokyo Game Show is coming up soon, which is both exciting and depressing for English-speaking gamers, as many titles never find their way to our markets, or, if they do, often take years to do so. Despite this, it can be an exciting time nonetheless, and for fans of quirky, humorous Japanese strategy RPGs, you definitely have plenty to look forward to.

For one, Nippon Ichi will give details about their new downloadable game, Disgaea Infinite. Right now it isn’t certain whether this will be a PS3 or PSP game, as sources conflict, with some saying it will be portable and others saying it will be for the console only. Perhaps the game will be playable on both systems, in the way that PSOne Classics are.

With the recent release of Disgaea: Dark Hero Days for PSP, fans of the series have a lot to be be happy about.
