Has The Newest ‘Resistance 3′ Trailer Just Confirmed Melee Weapons?

Resistance, thanks to Insomniac’s creative muscle, is known for some really inventive and satisfying weaponry. Whether they’re the Auger or Bullseye, the Resistance games don't hold back when it comes to its arsenal. That trend is sure to continue in next fall’s Resistance 3. A game that finally showed off its gameplay at last night’s VGAs. Mixed with some more gritty live-action scenes, the footage transitioned nicely into actual in-game footage. And the result was amazing, especially that ending which in my opinion, hints at a possible new gameplay addition.

VGA 2010 World Premiere Trailers

Did you miss out on this year’s Video Game Awards? If you did then we got all the World Premier trailers for you right here. A few of the trailers were teased before the awards show (Uncharted 3, Batman: Arkham City, and Resistance 3), but there were still some surprises. Forza Motorsport 4, Portal 2, Elder Scrolls V and SSX: Deadly Descents were just a few of those surprises. BioWare debuted their Mass Effect 3 trailer and while everyone knew another Mass Effect was coming, I think we can all agree that it’s Holiday 2011 release is a welcome surprise. Resistance 3: Everything We Know So Far

This Saturday, exclusively at Spike's Video Game Awards, Insomniac will be premiering a trailer for Resistance 3 that promises to show off some gameplay. It's about time I say. Sure the live action teasers were effective in getting the point across, thus setting the stage for the atmosphere and mood of the upcoming threequel. A gameplay trailer, though, will definitely get people talking and raise the degree of anticipation for this PlayStation exclusive. We're just a few short days away from the Video Game Awards, so let us put time to good use and re-cap everything that is known so far about the Chimera-infested shooter.

Resistance 3 Gameplay Trailer to Debut During the Spike Video Game Awards

Insomniac games announced today, via the PlayStation Blog, that the first glimpse of actual gameplay footage of Resistance 3 will be making it’s debut during the upcoming Video Game Awards. Following the live-action theme, the VGA trailer will show “snippets” of three moments in the game in live-action and then we’ll get to see some real gameplay footage. Resistance 3 Billboard Spotted

In a recent NeoGAF posting, photos of a Resistance 3 Billboard surfaced claiming to have been taken from Shreveport, Louisiana. The poster says the billboard was built for the Battle: Los Angeles movie set. According to IMDB the movie is about an alien invasion and is set to release in February 2011. With Ratchet and Clank and Resistance alternating years, and Ratchet set to release this year, it’s no shock that a Resistance 3 game is in the works. If the film in fact releases in February we could be looking at a February release date for the game as well. With Killzone 2 selling so well in February Sony could be looking to do the same with Resistance. If the billboard is real, Resistance 3 might be set in New York with the Statue of Liberty and Empire State Building shown in the logo. (more...)
