The Spawn Kill sports team is back for yet another episode of The Away Team. As always Gabe (Lethalwraith) and I (Eric) will be discussing the games we've been playing which includes Halo Reach, ModNation Racers for the PSP, God of War 3 and some Lucha Libre. We then tell you everything we know about Madden 11 and prepare the New Orleans fans for a rough year. Finally for our main topic we discuss sports games that don’t have an official license.

Quick Hit Football Update: Playbook Store & New Game Modes

Quick Hit Football continues to grow and change and in the past few weeks they have added new play modes, a new NFL super star and head coach, and have expanded their playbook. For those of you who don’t know what Quick Hit Football is, it is a free-to-play web-based football game that gives players the opportunity to be a Coach/GM and in a MMO style improve their team. Our last conversation with the Quick Hit team we covered the new interface and some new features of the game. In yet another update the developers are giving gamers new modes called Draft Showdown and Rookie Cup to go along with the Coaches’ Challenge. A new Playbook Shop has been added where players can purchase new plays and the team has also recruited Randy Moss as an in-game player. (more...)

Quick Hit Football Developer Interview

Recently I got a chance to speak with Brandon Justice, Director of Game Design for Quick Hit Football which is a free-to-play football game. Quick Hit Football brings gamers a very unique experience combining strategy with RPG elements in a MMO space. The small team that created this game is compiled of people who worked on MMORPGs, strategy games, and console sports titles. Although this is new territory for the crew, everyone brings in a unique perspective and it definitely shows in the game. During my conversation with Brandon we talked about some new features recently added to the ever-growing title and we also discussed the future of the title. For those who don’t know what Quick Hit Football is, do you mind giving us a quick rundown on the game and maybe some key features that set it apart from other football titles?
