Today Konami announced that No More Heroes: Heroes’ Paradise will be making its debut on the PlayStation 3 in 2011. The title that was exclusive to the Wii is now making its way exclusively on the PS3 in beautiful HD. Heroes’ Paradise will also feature PlayStation Move support, which I assume will control much like the Wii version. No More Heroes is one of the best franchises on the Wii featuring over-the-top violence and corny lines. The main characters name, Travis Touchdown, and the way he’s holding that Beam Katana should tell you all you need to know about the game.

According to Sony, over one million PlayStation Move units have been shipped to North and Latin America in the first month of its release. Before Sony’s announcement, many analysts made claims that the PlayStation Move had less-than-favorable sales. It had been previously revealed that the Move had sold 1.5 million units in Europe during the first month alone, but many skeptics had expected the new device to fair much poorer on this side of the Atlantic. Of course, shipped does not equal sold, but the numbers are still significant. (more…)

We clamor and cry how the Wii doesn’t have enough hardcore titles, do we not? Dead Space: Extraction was EA’s answer to this commonly complained of ailment. Serving as a prequel to the truly unique survival horror experience that was Dead Space, Extraction really took the stage with an exciting hardcore experience for the Wii. Now with Dead Space 2 on the horizon, Visceral Games is bringing the prequel for any PS3 gamers who missed out on Extraction by bundling it inside Limited Edition PS3 copies of Dead Space 2. I’ve been curious about if there are any differences, upgrades of how it played in general with the PlayStation Move, especially since I missed out on Extraction on the Wii. This week EA brought it to some New York gamers to get a chance to experience it for ourselves.

It’s been almost two years since Amazon introduced their Release-Date Delivery option and just before the big titles are set to release, Amazon has changed their price from $6 to 99 cents. Prior to the change gamers either had to pay $5.99 to get the game on the day it released or they had to be Amazon Prime members. Prime members were able to get release-date delivery for free having paid the initial yearly fee of $79. Ninety-nine cents it’s a great deal for all the lazy gamers out there. Along with this announcement, they also launched their PS Move Countdown page.

This generation of hardware has been promised to us to last much longer than previous generations. With that, it seems we’ve hit some sort of period in the gen where new technology is running rampant on the current generation of consoles and handhelds that we already own. Prime example was how much of E3 was dedicated to showing the Kinect, PlayStation Move and Nintendo’s 3DS. Are you digging each company’s upcoming bits and bytes of technology? Weigh in and let us know your stance on each of the Big Boss’ tech and which just tickle your fancy or gaggle your geese, or… something.

The company that brought us a $120 skateboard peripheral bundle and that churns out new Guitar Hero instruments every year is not eager to develop for Microsoft’s Kinect and Sony’s PlayStation Move because of the high prices of both setups of equipment (Kinect costs $150 and the Move costs $120 if you include the sub-controller and PlayStation Eye, the latter of which is necessary for the Move). Activision chief operating officer Thomas Tippl told Gamasutra that Activision is worried about the install base for the Kinect and the Move, noting that small install bases would only result in small returns on development investments by the company.

Tippl says that although Kinect and Move are going to allow innovation to occur in some genres, every type of game will not be ideal for Kinect and Move play. Activision apparently has thought about the franchises that would benefit from these technologies though, listing Tony Hawk and Rapala Fishing as examples.

I didn’t get a chance to play every PlayStation Move game at E3 but the few that I did gave me a good idea of what I could expect from the Move. For those who don’t know what the PS Move is, its Sony’s new motion control peripheral. Working in conjunction with the PlayStation Eye (camera), the Move controller with the ball at the end of it can sense almost every movement the player makes. I was able to test out the Move playing Time Crisis: Razing Storm, Resident Evil 5 and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11. Each of these games shows off a different way to use the PS Move and, more importantly, are geared towards the more “hardcore” audience.

With the PlayStation Move making a splash, gamers have been wondering if more older titles are getting updates for Move compatibility. Joystiq is reporting that Sony managing producer Peter Piaseckyj said that the critically-acclaimed Heavy Rain will be receiving a patch for PlayStation Move support sometime this fall. The patch will provide two difficulties for controls because Piaseckyj explains that there is “definitely a learning curve to the Move.”

Piaseckyj could not say if the patch would be priced or be included with another version of the retail copy of the title, but it will be downloadable from PSN. Joystiq also says that the Move controls allow for more intuitive play than the DualShock 3 controller, but some motions and controls are slightly awkward and confusing. It is currently playable at Sony’s E3 booth.
