The easiest thing to say about LittleBigPlanet 2 is that it definitely has a little something for every single type of gamer out there. To this day, the first Donkey Kong Country is still one of my all-time favorite games, with plenty of fond memories playing it with my friends and family. As a result, when I heard Nintendo was doing a New Super Mario Bros, but with Donkey Kong Country, I was ecstatic, and eagerly counted down the days until the game's release. Now it's finally out and available for purchase, but does it live up to my nostalgia-fueled hype, or will fans of the series be disappointed? And will newcomers who never experienced the amazing original game find this reboot as compelling as veterans?

Just a few weeks ago, indie game developer Foley weaved together the soothing, enjoyable platformer <em>Along Came a Spider</em> onto the Xbox LIVE Indie games channel. When I first heard about it, I watched a gameplay video of it, and it instantly reminded me of those simple, artistic, relaxing platform games you can play in between some of your more brutal gaming endeavors.

Childrens' video games suck. That's not conjecture. That's straight-up fact. Now, a video game adapted from a children's movie? That's a disaster waiting to happen. Luckily, Activision has taken steps to reverse this horrible trend. Monsters vs. Aliens, a movie-based title for the kids, is actually a surprising adventure that both children and adults alike can enjoy. It's not perfect - most games seldom are, but it does offer up a good time for anyone who gives it a chance. (more...)
