Electronic Arts announced Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, the latest title in the famous franchise. Title sound familiar? That’s because it shares the name with a previous title in the series. Similar to Hot Pursuit and Hot Pursuit 2, the new game is all about cops in luxurious sports cars chasing illegal racers in luxurious sports cars. It is being developed by Criterion Games, the developer of the Burnout series.

The biggest additions to the series are in-game power-ups and the new Autolog feature. In-game power-ups allow players to use items to race ahead or annoy opponents, such as the use of a police copter. The Autolog feature tracks your performance and records and compares them with your friends’.

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit will race onto shelves on November 16, 2025 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Windows in North America. Exient is handling development of a Wii version which will launch on the same date.
