Capcom says More Street Fighter Movies on the Horizon
Is releasing two critically bashed Street Fighter films enough to stop a determined gaming company from releasing more? Apparently not. It's time for round three. According to Capcom, there will be further adaptations of their Street Fighter series hitting the big screen in the future.Despite two failed attempts already, Capcom still seems optimistic in regards to their Street Fighter film franchise.

Lately we have seen a renaissance of gaming tie-ins. Tie-ins can include movies, comic books, novels, and even television series. Big publishers like wringing every cent they can from a popular IP, and thankfully this will often bring fans some extra material about the universes that we've fallen in love with. They aren't always done well, but I would argue that there is an increasing movement towards hiring quality writers and artists for these projects, and it has made for some fantastic tie-ins. This will be but a brief overview of a few of the better ones from recent games, with possibly more to come in the future as I expand my own collection.

What does this have to do with video games you ask? For starters, it's going to be based on a video game. What game, you ask? Well, a game that hasn't even been released yet. It's also a completely new IP and developer too. Mr. Pitt is taking quite the leap with this business endeavor if you ask me. The movie is going to be based on the upcoming 2010 game, Dark Void. The deal was struck up at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival between Pitt's production company, Plan B Entertainment, and Capcom and Reliance BIG Entertainment. (more...)
