Now Hiring: Respawn Entertainment

Jason West and Vince Zampella were known for their work on the much acclaimed Call of Duty series. After their dismissal from Infinity Ward, the duo had formed a new independent gaming studio named Respawn Entertainment. They will be receiving their funding from EA. Through the contract, they have agreed that all intellectual property rights will be credited to EA.

At the moment, nothing much is known about their current project. All that has been confirmed so far is that it will be across multiple platforms, being able to work on the PC, XBOX360, and the PS3.

Infinity Ward Opens Up a Feedback Line

Have you ever wanted to voice your opinions about a game right to the developers themselves? If you have then Infinity Ward is giving you that opportunity. Recently tweeted by Creative Strategist Robert Bowling, gamers can now call or text this number (402) 500-0119 to give feedback, ask questions or just rant about IW and their games. If you decide to call you’ll be greeted with a voice message from Mr. Bowling himself. This is obviously an attempt to improve the image of IW/Activision. There’s no word on how long the number will be available so if you want to rant you better give them a call today.

New Playlists Hitting Modern Warfare 2

Just uploaded today are two new multiplayer playlists for Modern Warfare 2. These two new playlists will allow players to play public matches with no Killstreaks. Barebones Pro consists of TDM and FFA while Objective Barbones Pro will consist of Domination, Demolition, HQ Pro, and Capture the Flag. This update is currently available on Xbox Live, and will be coming to PC and Playstation 3 alongside the Resurgence Package DLC the week of July 6th. Barbones Pro allows 4-8 players and Objective Barbones allows up to 12 players. I don't think i've ever played MW with no Killstreaks so this might actually get me back into playing it.

More Modern Warfare 2 Maps To Spend Money On

According to an Activision press release yesterday, what's left of Infinity Ward is releasing a map pack June 3rd on Xbox Live entitled Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Resurgence Pack. There is no price attached as yet, but we can definitely make some assumptions considering how many people threw down their hard earned benjamins for the last pack. They could probably charge 20 bucks this time and

Modern Warfare 2 Gets Free Weekend for PC

While Modern Warfare 2 isn’t as popular as its predecessor with lack of dedicated servers, 32 person matches and mod support, Infinity Ward is still trying to bring in PC gamers that are probably playing Battlefield: Bad Company 2 right now. Valve has announced that starting tomorrow at 4pm PDT gamers can play Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer mode for free through the weekend. You can start pre-

Modern Warfare 2 Map Pack Heftily Priced

Modern Warfare 2 was a huge success but many people including myself felt that it didn’t live up to the quality that its predecessor brought. Maybe Infinity Ward has been listening. They have decided to add 2 returning maps from COD4 in the upcoming DLC. Crash and Overgrown are the two remakes gamers will see in the DLC being called “Stimulus Package”. The add-on will also include 3 brand new maps Bailout, Storm and Salvage. The name of the DLC is actually quite fitting because it comes with a very hefty price tag of $15 or 1200 Microsoft points. Okay, I know, it’s only $5 more but seeing as there are only 3 new maps I can’t help but feel the extra charge was only added because Activition and Infinity Ward know people are going to buy it so why not try to add to their already fat pockets right?

Review: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

There's no need to introduce Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Infinity Ward's FPS titan is most certainly the most popular console title being played online today, and for good reason. Modern Warfare 2 is a solid first-person shooter with an unbelievable amount of polish.

Five Games That Sold Me On Next-Gen Gaming Thumbnail

Five Games That Sold Me On Next-Gen Gaming

It wasn't very long ago when I was sitting at work talking to customers about their gaming experiences. I was still stuck in the PS2/Gamecube era, and the folks I conversed with had told me about amazing experiences with their Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 systems. I've lived through several next-generation conversions, though to my knowledge the more recent hardware changes offered little more than graphical enhancements. My interest in Sony's six-hundred dollar machine was piqued when I heard stories of games with far-out mechanics and non-traditional presentation. When I made my purchase and dived into familiar genres, I wasn't too impressed. It wasn't until I picked up a few key titles that I was truly sold on what next-generation meant. These five games are the ones that sold me on the premise of next-generation gaming. (more...)

Modern Warfare 2′s “Infamy” Trailer & Achievements and Trophies

A double dose of Modern Warfare 2 here: the new October 4th "Infamy" trailer and the list of achievements and trophies. Xbox360Achievements and AllPS3Trophies got their hands on Modern Warfare 2's achievements and trophies list. There may be a few spoilers in the descriptions themselves, so don't read if you don't want any spoilers (although then you shouldn't have watched any of the trailers for the game). There are fifty achievements and fifty-one trophies. The new "Infamy" trailer premiered tonight during tonight's live NBC Sunday Night Football broadcast (the game between the San Diego Chargers and Pittsburgh Steelers). Luckily for those that missed it, the trailer's available online. We've included the lists of achievements and trophies and embedded the new trailer after the jump. (more...)
