Those of you who follow our site (particularly our podcast) know that I'm a huge Dragon Age fan, and can probably talk your ear off for hours about the game. While an "ultimate" edition of the game had been rumored for some time now, EA has finally revealed the existence of said edition.
The Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition will include the original game, plus all additional content released thus far. This means the Awakening expansion, plus all the DLC (9 separate packs), all for only $60 (or $50 for the PC version). Not a bad deal, since the total value is approximately double that.

It's such a great feeling to be really, really excited about not just one, but two upcoming Wii releases this fall. Our pink friend Kirby arrives on store shelves in only a few weeks, and then, in November, along comes Donkey Kong, whom we haven't seen in his own game in a long time.
In case you haven't yet pre-ordered Donkey Kong Country Returns, Gamestop has a pretty sweet pre-order bonus offer for you: a cute banana Wiimote holder (aka banana pouch).

GameStop may have arrived unstylishly tardy to the whole “digital download party,” but maybe we should all extend our courtesy and forget we’ve been practicing this immediacy via Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network since, well, a while now. It’s simply another case of weighing each service against another, so let’s see if GameStop has anything Earth-shattering to offer, shall we?

Earlier today, GameStop listed a PlayStation 3 Slim with a 160GB hard drive, available alone for $299.99 by itself, as part of a $404.97 God of War 3 bundle, or as part of a $379.97 accessory bundle. Any mention of the 160GB SKU is now absent from the website. According to Joystiq, GameStop's front page labeled this particular SKU on the front page as "Just Announced" even though Sony hasn't said a word regarding a 160GB PS3 for North America. Currently, Sony has a 120GB PS3 Slim for $299.99. We'll report with updates as they come from Gamescom tomorrow.

So we don't live in Japan where everyone plays Dragon Quest, population density is huge, and public transportation is extremely common. Nor do we live in the land where having a bar where you can gather to play and exchange game items is not only normal, it's expected. As a result, many North American players have expected to miss out on the features of tag mode that helped make the game such a success in the land of the rising sun. Nintendo seems to have realized this, and so has organized a series of Dragon Quest IX events at local retailers and malls to spread the word about the game and give US players the chance to get some new treasure maps.
