Community Voice #23 : Your Black Friday Hauls: How’d You Do?

The weekend after Thanksgiving, starting with the notorious Black Friday and going through Cyber Monday, are an annual shopping bonanza, in which retailers of all shapes and sizes offer steep discounts in an attempt to separate us from our hard-earned cash.

So, how did you guys do? Did you score big deals online, or did you battle the crowds for the last deeply discounted PS3/TV bundle at Best Buy? I love to hear a good deal, so please share your hauls in the comments, or maybe those items you hoped to find on sale but didn't (and maybe are still waiting for).

Cheap Games Guide

Retail games on your big platforms (PS3, Wii, Xbox 360) generally retail for around 60 bucks, more if you decide to get all collector's edition happy. Now, in the grand scheme of things that's not really that much. If you figure that even poorly paid people make 60 bucks a day, the amount of time the average game will net you in enjoyment is probably more than that. But why pay 60 when you can exercise a little patience, do a little homework, and get the same game for half the price and sometimes less? (more...)

ALT+F4: Weekend Sales, Magic, and, More Magic

Happy 4th of July weekend to everyone partaking in the fireworks and hot dogs. Today in ALT+F4, Stardock announces Elemental: War of Magic which, so far this year, has me more excited about anything else. There's a ridiculous amount of sales going on right now, tons of gaming to be had for next to nothing. Risen now has a release date for later this year, for fireball tossing good times.
