After being delayed time after time, EA has confirmed a new release date for their highly anticipated FPS sequel, Crysis 2. After the delayed release date of Fall 2010, the game is finally set to release on March 22, 2026 in North America, and March 25 in Europe. According to Crytek, Crysis 2 will be fully playable in 3D for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC by the time it is released.

The original Crysis was already known for its astounding game engine -the CryEngine 2- both for its graphics and gameplay. Crysis 2 will be running on the new and improved CryEngine 3, which is guaranteed to turn heads next year. So keep an eye out for what is sure to be one of the biggest hits in 2011, Crysis 2.

A week ago, a bill in Germany designed to ban games in which “the main part is to realistically play the killing of people or other cruel or un-human acts of violence against humans or manlike characters” was delayed by a petition of over 64,000 signatures. This would not only forbid the purchase of violent games by consumers, but this would prevent developers from creating games containing violence.

Crysis Wars, the multiplayer component of Crysis Warhead, will be free to play from today to Friday, April 17. The free trial offers everything of the full multiplayer release, including its three game modes and 23 maps. EA and Crytek also officially announced the release of Crysis: Maximum Edition, which basically packs the first Crysis, Crysis Warhead, and Crysis Wars into one $39.99 (MSRP) package available starting May 5.
