LittleBigPlanet 2 Collector’s Edition Revealed

I'll admit that I was very late to jump on the LBP bandwagon, but having read about all the amazing potential the sequel proclaims, I'm looking forward to it. Aspiring game designers have even more too drool over now that an official release date has been set (November 16, 2025 - "Just in time for the holidays") and an excellent limited-quantity Collector's Edition has also been revealed.

Final Fantasy XIV Collector’s Edition Featuring Amano

They only had to do one simple thing to sell me a Collector's Edition of Final Fantasy XIV, and it was to put Yoshitaka Amano artwork on the cover. They did it, and now I'll be buying. Square-Enix announced this major important piece of news, and also I guess the release date for the PC version. Important, yes, but not Amano-important.

Fallout: New Vegas Collector’s Edition

Despite being a sucker for SWAG, I rarely buy a Collector's Edition of a game, generally because I'm not interested in paying 30 extra dollars for a soundtrack and art book. But Bethesda has put together a worthy and unique package, and they just might have me caving in to their $79.99 ($69.99 on PC) price tag (but probably not because that's a ton of cash for a game). Included in the rec

Kill Kast 06: Collector’s Editions

We're serving up Episode 06, the Kill Kast Collector's Edition. And you didn't even have to pre-order! This week you'll be joining Tigresa (Stephanie) alongside a gaggle of tavern he-wenches K-Tuck (Kevin), Snarkasaur (Dave), and The Herp (aka Eric aka Sports). We dish a little on what we've been playing (recorded Thursday, 1/28) and our varied opinion on what's really "collectable" in Collector's Editions of several upcoming and past games, and what's just there to trick you into doling out an addition $10-$40 for unrecycled plastic.

Record of Agarest War Is Very, Very Naughty

Often we find ourselves disappointed by collector's editions, as evidenced by a lackluster European Final Fantasy 13 CE recently announced. What each gamer expects from these special editions vary, but it's a reasonable assumption that we want "stuff." Aksys Games is prepared to give gamers stuff. In fact, stuff, or stuffed, is a very appropriate word to use for this particular collector's edition of Record of Agarest War... (more...)

BioWare Introduces the Mass Effect 2 Collector’s Edition

The sequel to BioWare's immensely-popular Action RPG Mass Effect is soon to be brought into this world, and in order to offer fans of the series a little something special (and also to make a few extra dollars), BioWare has announced a Collector's Edition for Mass Effect 2. The limited-quantity Collector's Edition will be releasing alongside the standard version of the game on January 26th in North America, and is set to include the following: the full retail version of the game, a 48-page hardcover art book titled "Art of Mass Effect 2", issue #1 of the Mass Effect Redemption comic book, and a DVD with outtakes, making-of, and behind the scenes footage. All of these contents will be nicely enclosed in a "premium" tin case. The Mass Effect 2 Collector's Edition

Introducing the God of War III Ultimate Edition

Looks like everyone's jumping on the overpriced special edition bandwagon these days. With Modern Warfare 2's Prestige Edition pre-sells doing so well, my guess is Sony thought it would be a great decision to create their own more expensive than the average collector's edition package for God of War III. To be honest, it seems like a very good decision on their part. There's so my hype around the God of War series that putting out the Ultimate Edition will surely be a hit. But are you getting your money's worth? The Ultimate Edition has a price set at $99.99. It boasts a 8.3" wide x 10.5" long x 5.9" tall "High-End Sculpted Replica of Pandora's Box." The rest of the contents are under the cut: (more...)
