Following last year’s innovative puzzler, Super Scribblenauts is a sequel with adjectives in the mix and a greatly improved control scheme that should fix the major problems in last year’s Scribblenauts. Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has released a new trailer for Gamescom ‘10, and it highlights some of the new features. Too bad some of the more interesting adjectives will probably not be in the game… you know, to be safe for the children. Anyway, check out the trailer after the jump to find out you can do “fire breathing alien” and “powerful cheetah” instead of just “alien” or “cheetah.”

Review: Scribblenauts

5th Cell had a lot of expectations to meet, a lot of hopes and dreams to fulfill in the hearts of gamers everywhere. With an incredible amount of buzz surrounding this little DS title at E3, including the famous NeoGAF post by Feep describing using a dinosaur to defeat robot zombies, Scribblenauts has been described as creative, ingenious, and inspiring. Of course, with this much hype comes the possibility of disappointment. In the end, is Scribblenauts what we all had expected? For the most part, yes. Is it what we wanted? Not exactly. Scribblenauts, although having an excellent concept and providing lots of fun, suffers from frustrating control issues that often detract from the experience and well, the fun.

5TH Cell’s imaginative puzzle game for the Nintendo DS finally has an official release date of September 15, 2009, as revealed by Warner Bros. at San Diego Comic-Con. So there’s a little less than two months until we get to have God battle the Kraken, attach lasers to sharks, and… push a whale into the sea with a bulldozer.
