Rock Band Roundup: Beatlemania, Queen, Nirvana, Iggy Pop, and More!
Posted by Molotov Cupcake on August 19th, 2009
While scrolling through my inbox today I almost fell out of my chair upon checking out the latest from Harmonix from their latest GamesCom announcements. As a goliath Beatles fan, my wait for the colossal release of The Beatles: Rock Band was made to feel even longer with the official announcement of the very first three downloadable albums from the Fab Four, as well as the unveiling of “All You Need is Love” as an additional DLC track for $1.99 on September 9, 2009.
In addition, CEO and founder of Harmonix Alex Rigopolus revealed some very juicy tidbits regarding upcoming tracks that could very well be hitting the Rock Band Music Store in the near future. Color me well excited. I’m chomping at the bit to get my Paul, John, George, and Ringo on as it is. So what are you waiting for? It’s time for another exciting Rock Band Roundup.
The Beatles: Rock Band is set for a synonymous September 9th release with remastered editions of all of the band’s albums, spanning their wildly successful career. Though the complete setlist was just revealed days ago, we all knew that there were some omissions: songs that we would all demand to sing, and would hopefully see in the coming months. Rigopolus assuaged our fears that certain epic tracks would not see the light of day by announcing, dating, and pricing the first three albums that will be available for purchase, as well as “All You Need is Love,” which will be available on the September 9th launch date for $1.99. The three albums that will be released first are as follows:
Abbey Road (1969)
Release Date: October 20, 2025
Pricing: $16.98 (or 1360 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360) for album
$1.99 (or 160 Microsoft Points for Xbox 360) for individual tracks

· “Mean Mr. Mustard”
· “Polythene Pam”
· “She Came In Through The Bathroom Window”

· “Carry That Weight”
· “The End”

As an added bonus, if you purchase Abbey Road as a whole rather than separate tracks (which I’m sure we are all going to do, I know I am), you’ll receive the option to play a medley of the following songs: You Never Give Me Your Money,” “Sun King,” “Mean Mr. Mustard,” “Polythene Pam,” “She Came In Through The Bathroom Window,” “Golden Slumbers,” “Carry That Weight” and “The End.” I’m drooling already, though that’s going to be one tough setlist to play through!

· “I’m Looking Through You”
· “In My Life”
· “Wait”
· “If I Needed Someone”
· “Run For Your Life”
With one of my personal favorite Beatles albums being Rubber Soul, I can’t wait to get my hands on these DLC albums. How about you guys? What’s the Beatles album you’re waiting for to arrive?
As if it weren’t enough to get all of this Beatles goodness served up throughout the coming months, Harmonix has also enlightened us that certain tracks from artists such as Queen, Nirvana (How about some “Smells Like Teen Spirit” for once?), Iggy Pop, Elton John, Tom Petty, The White Stripes, Pantera, and a possible plethora of others will be coming to the Rock Band Music Store soon, but when? I suppose we’ll just have to wait and see. With the Rock Band catalogue hitting 800 songs, and a planned total of 1000 by the holiday season, it might be a good time to head out, pick up the original or the sequel or the upcoming The Beatles: Rock Band and jam out with the Spawn Kill crew.
Just sayin’.
