Review: Create

Many games have allowed players to create and customize their game playing experience. With a title such as EA Bright Light Studios' Create, one would imagine that it would be quite similar to another popular PS3 title featuring a Sackboy. Despite the name, Create focuses more on puzzle solving, allowing players to create a solution to one of many challenges available instead of giving players

Nintendo Monday: December 6, 2025

Nintendo must really be getting into the holiday spirit this week, as they're showering us with updates for this week, with eight new titles to enjoy, including not one, but TWO virtual console releases, not to mention Fluidity for WiiWare. No new demos for this week, sadly, but you should have plenty to keep you occupied anyway. As usual, hit the break for the full list of releases! (more...)

Wii May Treat Parkinson’s

A British doctor has recently received a grant for £35,000 (approximately $55K) to explore the potential benefits playing the Wii may have for Parkinson's patients.

By stimulating patients both mentally and physically, it is theorized that playing the Wii can slow the nerve damage that causes Parkinson's symptoms.

Review: Donkey Kong Country Returns Thumbnail

Review: Donkey Kong Country Returns

To this day, the first Donkey Kong Country is still one of my all-time favorite games, with plenty of fond memories playing it with my friends and family. As a result, when I heard Nintendo was doing a New Super Mario Bros, but with Donkey Kong Country, I was ecstatic, and eagerly counted down the days until the game's release. Now it's finally out and available for purchase, but does it live up to my nostalgia-fueled hype, or will fans of the series be disappointed? And will newcomers who never experienced the amazing original game find this reboot as compelling as veterans?

Review: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1

A popular trend with a lot of movies, especially ones aimed towards the younger generation, is to have a video game counterpart released alongside the movie. Another popular trend is for the game to be lacking in some form. EA Bright Light Studio's title Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 is one such game to be released in such a manner. But is it able to surpass the low expectations of movie-based games or will Harry Potter wish that he stuck with Quidditch?

Nintendo Monday: November 29, 2025

I hope you all survived Thanksgiving (especially the traveling part), and didn't get trampled if you braved the mall on Friday or Saturday. However, Nintendo is giving you something to be thankful for, and to spend any of that money you might have left over after this weekend's shopping sprees, by releasing Cave Story on DSiWare and as a WiiWare demo. Looks like one of my holiday wishes was just granted!

This week features three DSiWare titles, including Cave Story, two WiiWare games and the Cave Story demo, and believe it or not, a Virtual Console release as well. Remember that demos are available for a limited time, so get them while you can: and I highly recommend Cave Story; it's one of the best downloadable titles I've played on any system.

As usual, hit the break for the full release details.

Conduit 2 Intro Trailer, New Screens Pried From A Set of Cold, Dead Hands

The intro video has been revealed as a bit of a Thanksgiving gift from Sega for Conduit 2. The graphics really look like their pushing the upper limits of the Wii's capabilities. I can't help but watch and wish this series had an Xbox and PS3 counterpart. Check out the latest video and screenshots below!

Nielsen: Kids Asking Santa for iPad/iPod Touch More Than Gaming Systems

A new survey done by the Nielsen company is showing that kids in the six-to-twelve age range are wanting Apple's iPad and iPod Touch more than any other gaming system, handheld or console. The October survey has recorded that 31 percent of children asked were interested in buying an iPad while 29 percent of them would like an iPod Touch. Following in at 25 percent is Nintendo's DS/DSi/DS Lite. It is the highest ranking traditional console to lead the PlayStation 3, Wii, and Xbox 360 at 21 percent, 18 percent, and 12 percent respectively.
