Review: Prinny 2: Dawn of Operation Panties, Dood! Thumbnail

Review: Prinny 2: Dawn of Operation Panties, Dood!

Dooooooooooooooood. There, I got it out of the way. That’s honestly the only time you’ll see the famed Disgaea slang in this entire review, I promise (except for the title, mind you). There are plenty of other slang terms I’d love to use to describe Prinny 2’s unforgiving difficulty, but I’ll avoid doing so to keep your virgin eyes untainted. Prinny 2 is as ridiculous as its subtitle alludes, as the Prinnies find themselves entangled in a sinister panty-theft. Etna, current lord of the underworld has lost her coveted pair of underoos to a mysterious visitor obsessed with collecting rare items. Etna tasks the exploding penguin-esque creatures with her underwear recovery, lest they want to end up blowing to pieces. If you aren’t familiar with the humor of the Disgaea franchise, the barrage of Disgaea jokes aren’t going to have any effect on your boring self. However, if you’ve ever delved into the twisted world of Disgaea, you’ll know this is just another day in the life of a Prinny and what a day indeed.

Review: Sackboy’s Prehistoric Moves Thumbnail

Review: Sackboy’s Prehistoric Moves

It's been a little over two years since we first got our hands on LittleBigPlanet and were immediately enraptured by both the series' unique visual style (imagine if Dr. Frankenstein plied his trade Tinker Toys and craft supplies instead of dead flesh) and their adorable mascot, the irrepressible Sackboy. The original was released to widespread acclaim from critics and fans alike, with the robust level building tools spawning a wildly inventive online community that has generated more than three million user-created levels to date.

Now, with an ambitious sequel looming just around the corner, Sony felt the time was right to give LBP fans an appetizer of sorts by tossing that cute little knitted rascal back into the Jurassic (Jurassack?) period for the PlayStation Network release of Sackboy's Prehistoric Moves.

Xenogears and More Classics Coming to PSN Thumbnail

Xenogears and More Classics Coming to PSN

It appears that a few more of Square-Enix's classics are going to make their way onto the North American PlayStation Network in the near future. The ESRB has recently rated several classic PlayStation One titles which would indicate their eventual release on the network. Among the titles rated were Xenogears, which hit stores originally in 1998 and Vagrant Story, originally released in 2000. Other notable titles include R4 Ridge Racer Type 4 from Namco and Arc The Lad III from Working Designs.

PlayStation Store Update: December 21, 2025

Sony has a huge update to celebrate Christmas, it seems, with plenty of titles on sale, along with some goodies (and exclusive sales) for PlayStation Plus members. You can snag Valkyria Chronicles 2 for only $15.99, Sonic the Hedgehog 4 for $9.99 (even less if you have PlayStation Plus), or Shank for $9.99, just to name a few. Some of these price drops are permanent, some are for this week only, but definitely a few good deals to be had. I know I may finally pick up Blue Toad Murder Files, as the complete set is now just $15.

If that isn't enough, you can try out the Mass Effect 2 demo, or get the full copy of Borderlands. Or if you're looking for a laugh, try Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People, now available for the first time for PS3. This week also sees the release of Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones and echochrome ii, not to mention more demos for Dead Space 2 and LBP2. Certainly plenty to keep you busy over the next week or so.

Hit the break for the full list of releases, updates, and price drops.

This is a hard game to tag a specific genre to. There's no doubt, though, that it'll prove to be another amazing interactive experience from the guys who brought us the PSN hits: flOw and Flower. The trailer released for it definitely gets the point across that this game will see the main character go through one big adventure. What can't be determined from this trailer is the genre, as aforementioned.
