Cave Story 3D To Be Released For 3DS
Pixel's Cave Story is a wonder on its own. Through word of mouth (and the greatness that is the internet), Cave Story has reached a level of gaming fame that Daisuke Amaya may have never even dreamed of. But after going from being free on the PC to being available on WiiWare and DSiWare, where else is there to go for Cave Story? Why, to the 3D realm, of course! And what would better suit 3D than the next big thing in 3D -- the 3DS. According to NIS America a "fully reconstructed in 3D" version of Cave Story is going to be made and released onto the 3DS.

Probably the easiest game to discuss that was playable is SSFIV 3D. It's very literally exactly the same as the console versions you are likely already familiar with. The same 35 characters (still my Ibuki, of course!) and all the moves you know. The characters all come unlocked from the get-go, and each character has an alternate costume that you've seen, bought, or fought against in the console version.

Combat of Giants: Dinosaurs 3D is an excellent launch window game to get kids interested itching to get a 3DS early. It's a combination of game types. When you start up, you can choose which type of dinosaur from a few different kinds: predators, hunters, chargers or defenders. Each family of dinosaurs has a different combative advantage over another. I was feelin' rather predatorial this time around. You could also customize your dinosaur fully in tons of different colors and stripe colors, etc. It's your very own rather personalized piece of the Jurassic world.

The first racing game to hit the streets with the 3DS (very likely to be a launch title) will be Asphalt 3D. Published by Ubisoft, and developed by Gameloft, a name known for their prowess in both mobile and portable gaming, it's already nearing the gates with reputable backing. Gameloft pushes boundaries day in and day out on the iPhone with the gyroscope functionality and stunning graphics, and now they're bringing that promise to the 3DS.

According to some digging by Tiny Cartridge, the 3DS cartridge capacity may not be so tiny. While the current range of DS games is from 32MB to 512MB, according to several sources, the 3DS carts may have a capacity up to 8GB. For comparison, a standard UMD (used in Sony's PSP handheld) holds 1.8 GB of data.
