Additional $2.6-$2.9 Billion Spent On Video Game Content For the First-Half of 2010

In a press release by the NPD Group on the soon-to-be-released “Games Industry: Total Consumer Spend” report, the NPD Group stated that in addition to the $3.7 billion spent in the U.S. on new physical video and PC game software, in the first half of 2010 an additional $2.6-$2.9 billion was spent on “other” content which covers: used games, game rentals, subscriptions, digital full game downloads, social network games, downloadable content, and mobile game apps.
