Fan Expo 2010 Impressions - The Good, The Bad, and the Downright Ugly

I've returned from this year's Fan Expo, which took place in Toronto this weekend. The expo is a large convention for fans of anime, horror, gaming, comics and science fiction. I saw a lot of great stuff this year, and I'll admit that while it was a huge improvement since 2008, the first year I went, it had a lot of fatal flaws that may keep me from going next year. While I had plenty of exciting experiences, some were not nearly so awesome, and some were just so completely terrible that I hope to never have to suffer through them again.

Fans of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Video Game can now put all those awesome chiptunes into their iPods and on their computers for $11.99 from the iTunes store. Review: Burn Zombie Burn for PC

I’m not really a huge zombie fan. When it comes to the supernatural, I’m more into werewolves and the kind of vampires you would find in an Anne Rice novel. I enjoyed the Evil Dead franchise, 28 Days Later and the more recent Zombieland but I would never peg myself as a zombie lover by any stretch of the imagination. What I am a big fan of is Plants vs. Zombies, Dead Rising (despite its flaws) and the Resident Evil games. I’ve had fun with zombies in video games, so when I was given the chance to review Burn Zombie Burn, I was kind of excited.

Square-Enix’s Gun Loco Coming Exclusively to Xbox 360

Square-Enix announced on the 16th that Gun Loco, a new third-person shooter, will be coming to the Xbox 360 exclusively. The game will offer single player and multiplayer gameplay in a "sprint action shooter format." The game will supposedly be "redefining" run-and-gun style gameplay with a unique host of characters, and the art style boasts a fairly unique look from what I can tell from the screenshots.

SEGA Lead Designer Tells Hardcore Fans: Buy Sonic 4, Not Sonic Colors

Were you excited about Sonic Colors for the Nintendo Wii and DS? Are you over the age of twelve? If you answered yes to both of those questions, forget about buying Sonic Colors. Apparently the game isn't for you. Normally I love brutal honesty from developers, but I think lead designer Takashi Iizuka just created a bit of a PR disaster when he basically sent off some seriously mixed signals recently.

THQ*ICE Finally Confirms Dropping Dragonica Online

THQ*ICE, tsk tsk tsk. Finally the mystery of what the fate will be for Dragonica Online, a free-to-play MMORPG, has been announced. If you're part of Dragonica Online's community, you may have noticed that the forums have gone unmoderated for quite a while. Since it hasn't been moderated and there was no word from THQ*ICE as to what was going on with their title, the community naturally devolved into a bit of a cesspit unfit for younger audiences.
