PlayStation Phone Video Shows Android OS and PlayStation Game App

Engadget has recently uncovered a new video of the PlayStation Phone. Codenamed Zeues Z1, the phone follows the same design we have been seeing in previous leaks. The phone is running Google’s Android 2.3 “Gingerbread” operation system. While no game was shown being run on the system you do get a good 2 minute look at the device and you also get a sneak peak at the PlayStation app that leads to what looks like a PS store interface.

While it’s nice to see PlayStation work with Google’s OS to create a mobile phone that is built for gaming, I’m more excited to see what they can do with games now that everyone will always be connected to the internet. To be honest I’’d rather see a PSP 2 with the same capabilities of getting online using 3G than a phone from PlayStation. There’s no word on the types of games we’ll be seeing from them but with all the Minis out now, you can bet to see them more once the phone drops.
