After weeks of feeling like the last, lonely child to be picked up after school, Nintendo of America finally announced today that the 25th Anniversary Collection, here titled simply the Super Mario All-Stars Collection, will finally be arriving in North America starting December 12, 2010.

Like its counterparts in Europe and Japan, the set will be available for a limited time, while supplies last, and retail for $29.99.

The collection will include a Wii disc featuring the four games originally included on the SNES Super Mario All-Stars cartridge, including Super Mario Bros, Super Mario Bros 2, Super Mario Bros 3, and Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels. In addition to the games, the package includes a soundtrack CD chronicling the history of the Mario franchise, and a 32-page Super Mario History booklet “featuring interviews, behind-the-scenes details and rare concept art.”

For more information about the 25th anniversary of Super Mario Bros., visit http://mario25.nintendo.com.

Personally, I have been praying daily that we would see this collection arrive in the US, so I was ecstatic when I heard this news, and am planning on pre-ordering as soon as I finish this article.

Note: The image is from the European release since Nintendo America has not provided any images as of yet.

I’ve already played these games, but I want to order it for the bonus stuff.

Yeah, I used to play the crap out of the old cart back in the day, but I just really love the All-Stars version of SMB3 in particular, and it will be nice to have all four of these games playable on my Wii without having to buy the VC versions of each. Plus, it’s really nice to have the bonuses as well.
