Atlus Remaking Persona 2: Innocent Sin for PSP

Persona fans, brace yourselves: this week’s issue of Famitsu revealed that Atlus has a PSP remake of Persona 2: Innocent Sin in the works.

Shoji Meguro, famed Shin Megami Tensei composer, is directing the game (he also directed the Persona 1 PSP remake), and promises the game will see improvements and optimizations for the PSP, including a new opening movie, widescreen support, and the ability to install the game from UMD.

When asked about the second half of Persona 2, Eternal Punishment (which never received a US release), Meguro admitted it was impossible to fit both games onto a UMD, but that he would definitely be interested in doing a PSP remake of that game as well at some point.

Although this announcement is Japan-only, it is highly likely we will see a US localization of the game at some point.
