Steven Spielberg’s Project LMNO Cancelled
Rez was a rail-shooter game that was set in a futuristic computer “supernetwork”. It was originally released by Sega, then on the Dreamcast, PS2, and finally the Xbox 360. Now what makes this game so popular is the uniqueness that it brings - like all shooter games there is the gunfire but instead of the typical sound effects, it’s replaced by electronic music.
Well roughly two years ago there had been news that there would be a Rez sequel under the codename “Project LMNO” directed by the ever-popular Steven Spielberg under the guiding hand of EA. For two years there hasn’t been much news about the development until finally this comes along - “EA has ceased development of LMNO”. It makes one wonder what exactly happened that they would put a stop to it! Well we found out, and it was the dreaded thing called politics. Apparently EA didn’t want to step on anyone’s toes since there have been news about a rival game in the works.
So there you have it, a bit disappointing but perhaps that rival game is out there somewhere - it just won’t be coming from EA or Steven Spielberg.
