Final Fantasy Orchestral Concert “Distant Worlds” Comes to Sydney and Canada
If you’re a Final Fantasy fan then you know about the brilliant Japanese video game composer Nobuo Uematsu. And if you aren’t familiar with the name, then it’s highly improbable that you haven’t heard of the world-renowned music that he has developed for Square Enix’s Final Fantasy series. Even if you haven’t, his songs can be featured in multiple games and even in Japanese anime (Ah! My Goddess, anyone?).
If you are an avid fan or just curious about what’s so great about this guy, then you won’t want to miss out on Distant Worlds. It’s a plus if you’re interested in orchestra, as that’s what Distant Worlds is all about - symphony orchestra. No, it’s not going to be a night of snooty over-dressed people of the upper crust of society (though there may be a few). Most likely, you’ll end up seeing avid fans much like yourself with a few even attending the night wearing cosplay.
The concert will feature not only songs from Final Fantasy video games, but every song will be accompanied by scenes from games throughout the Final Fantasy series. If that’s not enough, Nobuo Uematsu himself will be in attendance.
The event takes place at the Sydney Opera House April 15 & 16, 2011 with tickets going on sale beginning on October 15. If you don’t want to wait that long and willing to take that chance, for one night only, Distant Worlds will be visiting Toronto, Onatario, Canada November 27 at the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts.
Tickets can be purchased through the sites themselves with tickets going as low as $35:
