In a recent CVG interview with Hot Pursuit‘s senior producer Matt Webster, he had a lot to say regarding the next installment in the Need For Speed franchise -as well as a lot of trash to talk. Webster stated that Criterion’s Hot Pursuit is going to be as big as Burnout: Paradise, and he even went so far as to say that the competition should be “F***ing scared.” That’s some big talk coming from Webster.

According to Webster, he believes that Hot Pursuit is “going to be huge. It’s fun, it presses all the buttons. If I was a competitor I’d be f***ing worried. This is the biggest driving game.” Along with this statement, Webster added that he was “done driving around tracks.” With the recent decline in sales for the Need For Speed franchise, maybe Criterion’s aspirations will be able to make the franchise worth talking about again. Hopefully Webster delivers with his promise, but until then, we can only wait and see. Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit is set to release November 16th for the Xbox 360 and PS3.

Yeah, I’m sure Polyphony Digital is shakin in their boots. Word of advice? Try launching your racing game in a different month that Gran Turismo, it can only help your sales numbers.

Jibes aside, I’ll definitely be getting this, but at the earliest June of 2011, as I predict GT5 will be monopolizing my time for at least the next 6 months, if not more.

Wow I get embarrassed when devs talk like that. Really. Embarrassed.
