And the Winner of the 250GB Halo Reach Xbox 360 Slim Bundle is…
That was probably the longest 30 days we’ve ever witnessed. More exciting entries were submitted than I ever expected. Some of you made a rap video, some of you showed off an art skill, others were poets and haiku artists. There was a couple that really stood out amongst the staff, but one in particular that went above and beyond to show us his dedication to Halo. That was Center706‘s entry. His full entry can be viewed here. He really went above and beyond anything we ever expected.
He ended up writing/singing four awesome songs and putting together a mock CD cover, jacket, and lyric inserts. He also wrote and read aloud a really talented poem, and reached out to Mountain Dew and somehow got them to tweet about Spawn Kill and the contest! He also (yes, there’s more… wow) made a Spawn Kill Halo soundboard app (you can take a peek at the link above of all his work), and here’s the kicker, he somehow, somehow, reached out to THE voice actor of Master Chief, Steve Downes, and asked him to send in a voice clip of his endorsement towards his entry in the contest.
He really blew us away with dedication we never had any idea to expect, so we want to congratulate Kyle on his brand new baby bundle of joy coming his way. Look out for an email from Spawn Kill.
Thanks so much for entering to everyone! We’ll try to get another contest up soon for you all since that one was such a success. Keep visiting Spawn Kill for your latest news, reviews and more!

Congratulations!
Thank-you very much sir.
Spawnkill….
Thank-you.
I’m kind of fuzzy headed right now and at a loss for words, so the long thank-yous will have to wait, BUT FOR NOW….THANK-YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
Congrats mate!
Thanks!
Awesome! Congrats Center706. Thanks for the contest, Spawnkill!
My computer was loading this page real slow, you guys have no idea how fast my heart was pumping, I could actually hear it, but I already knew I wouldn’t win
Congrats to the winner, enjoy.
Congratulations!
I was also wondering if anybody knew about any other legitimate contests to win the new Xbox Slim? The only current contests I can find right now have already ended, and I had my hopes up too much for this contest that I didn’t enter any of the others. So please, if you can find one, you’d be my hero.
Once again, congratulations Kyle, you’re a very lucky man. Perhaps if I could afford to play and record music just for Spawn Kill, or hire a professional voice actor like Steve Downes that I would win contests like this. I did my best, but you did far better. Congratulations Kyle… You must’ve spent more on the production of those songs than you would have on the Xbox though, right?
Let’s keep the congratulations friendly.
The winner obviously put a lot of effort into his submissions. We got a lot of really creative, great submissions for the contest and I’m looking forward to the next contest since this one was such a great success.
Tanner,
As for you looking for other contests to win, I’m pretty sure CAG has a BIG contest going on right now as well. You should check them out! (I believe there’s a possiblity for a total of 6 Reach consoles to be won).
First of all thank-you for your congratulations, I really am a lucky man.
Secondly, I understand your frustration/getting your hopes up for this contest. (Ask a few of the staff members, I was CONSUMED by this contest from the first day to the last) That being said, I didn’t spend one dime on this contest. I’m actually in the process of filing for disability, and currently not working…so I couldn’t afford to.
So while I’m incredibly flattered you feel my production quality was “money spending” worthy, I assure you it wasn’t. Now while I won’t give away all of my recording secrets, I will let you know I used Adobe Audition (pro-tools clone) to record with. And (sorry for the possibly egotistical statement) with some clever tricks/mixing technique I was able to somehow get a decent studio sound out of my laptop, the software and a few other items.
As for Steve’s voice over, I can promise you I didn’t pay him a dime. (seeing as how some voice actors make $1,000 per 30 second spot) All I did was write him an email asking for his endorsement, explained my situation, my love for his voice work (always good to stroke the ego) and my obsession with winning this contest. Out of the kindness of his heart, Steve endorsed me 100% pro bono. (Which is really a powerful testament to what a nice guy he is.)
Again had I had the money to do this “pro” style, I would have just purchased an Xbox.
I’m sorry you didn’t win, and wish you luck finding another contest to hopefully win your own.

[...] I HAD WON! The thing I desired more than anything I’d ever desired before…was MINE! SWEET SWEET VICTORY. On top of winning the contest, Tigresa over at Spawn Kill wrote this AMAZING article announcing me the winner. The reception of my entry and the acknowledgment of my dedication to the Halo franchise/this contest added an extra level of excitement and pride. (You can read that glorious write up HERE) [...]
