Not everyone made the choice at the end of Dragon Age that would allow this DLC to exist, but if you didn’t, you missed out on one of the most interesting choices in Dragon Age: Origins. Morrigan, a definite fan-favorite character, leaves the protagonist with a cliffhanger of an ending if you choose one way, and it is the next, and potentially final, DLC of the game that will answer this monument of a question: Where did she go?

According to the press release, the DLC takes place approximately a year after the end of Origins, and word reaches your Warden’s ear that Morrigan has been sighted in the Wilds, where you first met her and where you (hopefully) slew her bitch of a mother. She said never to follow her, but how can a man or woman resist checking in on such a character when she comes back into his or her neighborhood? Personally, I was hoping for a full on sequel with Morrigan as the central character in some kind of full fledged chase story, but I suppose DLC will have to do.

Aside from wrapping up one of the giant loose ends from the original campaigns, “Witch Hunt” promises to offer another cool piece of equipment for use in Origins and Awakening, and is meant for high level adventurers. This leads me to believe that Morrigan has, as many rumors have hinted at, taken her mother’s place as Witch of the Wilds and potentially even upped her shape-shifting game. Giant Morrigan dragon anyone?

The DLC has a deliciously close release date of September 7th, and will run Xbox 360, PS3, and PC owners $7 or 560 MSP.

Saw this coming after seeing the story of DA:II....

Actually, kind of just disappointed with this one. I had thought that the Morrigan storyline deserved its own sequel, or at least an expansion...not a crummy little DLC.

Same! Morrigan is one of my favourite video game birds. I'm a tad disappointed, but I'll definitely check it out just for her.

Exciting and simultaneously disappointing. Hopefully they won't ruin it like the last DLC :(.
