Gears of War 3 Update: Carmine Will Live?
Carmine. Ever since the dawn of Gears of War… this name has been cursed. After his family members died in the first two games, Epic has decided to let the fans decide Clayton Carmine’s fate in Gears of War 3. Well, the fans are voting, and so far it looks like they want him to actually survive. To let the fans decide Carmine’s fate, Epic released two t-shirts made for Xbox 360 avatars — one saying “Carmine Must Die,” and the other saying “Carmine Must Live” to toss their vote in with. Although the majority vote is saying that Carmine Must Live, there is still time to change this soldier’s fate.
“After a fantastic debut at Comic-Con 2010 and tons of real shirts and Xbox LIVE avatar tees selling by the truckload, Save Carmine has the lead! That’s right—if things continue as they are, a Carmine will actually survive a Gears of War title,” stated Epic. Will fate change for the Carmine lineage? According to Epic, the thought of Carmine surviving “is simply unacceptable” for certain Gears of War fans. So what’s it gonna be, gamers? Will Carmine live? Or will he be led to the same end as all the others? His fate rests in our hands. Get your t-shirts on the XBLA soon, because the voting will keep on until September 2nd!

I really like what Epic is doing with this, it gives us fans an extra stake in the development of the game. I would like to see this become the norm in the gaming industry. Even if it's something small like picking the design of a piece of armor, or something major like helping name the main character. Whatever the case, GO EPIC!

i personally love gears, but gears 2 had major multiplayer issues, especially with glitching and hacking, as well as lag

This new Carmine is a beast. The guy looks like a berserk, he just looks like a legend and he’s fearless as well as brutal. I don’t want him to die. I loved the fact the Carmine’s always die but this guy is just too beast to die. Go Clayton Carmine live and hopefully live to see the making of gears 4 if this isn’t the end…
