Silent Hill: Past Life Crossover Comic Announced!
At San Diego Comic Con, Tom Waltz of the recently announced Silent Hill 8 team let everyone know that a Silent Hill comic is heading our way! (Luckily the game name Silent Hill 8 is till a tentative title, yugh to out of sequence numerical titles.) It’s going to be a crossover with the upcoming game, but there’s something kind of strange going on here… See, the comic takes place in 1867, because they wanted to go for a more historical story-telling of the Silent Hill universe. Fine and dandy, but they’re planning a crossover character to be in the story where someone from Silent Hill 8 will also be in the comic, Silent Hill: Past Life — even though the game takes place in a modern setting. I love the craziness of the Silent Hill universe so I’m interested to see what kind of mind-destruction they have planned with this story. Silent Hill: Past Life is going to be a mini-series consisting of four parts that is already going to be released this October. The story will set around a character named Jebediah Foster (1800′s enough for you?) who is a bit of a evil-hearted guy, and an outlaw. He will meet a sweet widow who convinces him to change his ways and ask him to move out of Silent Hill with her out west and that’s when the madness will kick in where he must deal with the things he’s done in his past. I’m a total sucker for video game mini-series to comic transitions, and a ginormous Silent Hill fan - so this is a definite money-to-cash register transaction for me, despite my wariness on the quality of the upcoming Silent Hill 8 title slated for next year. Plus, it has a fetus on the cover.
