Here’s a live tweet recap from Heart1lly for those of you who may have missed Nintendo’s press conference. Quite possibly the most exciting of all the press conferences, we get a look at the new Zelda, Kirby, Metroid, Donkey Kong and of course the Nintendo 3DS!

Reggie has taken the stage. “Technology is only a tool. The end product, the thing that DOES matter, is the experience.”

 Zelda! ZELDA!

Okay, so it looks like we’re watching some sort of quick montage for Zelda: Skyward Sword.

The new Zelda game uses the wii-motion plus for sword control and pulling out your shield. Interesting.

Seeing how the controls work for the Wayward Sword. Miyamoto is correcting Bill - and oh hey, he just popped out of the screen.

Something tells me I’m going to be fighting with the controls in the new Zelda. Still looks pretty cool though.

Miyamoto is cutting an aggressive plant down - will it drop deku sticks?

Haha, kind of cool. The motion from moving the sword around and around confuses some magical doors into opening.

You can use shield bash to kill enemies. You still use the buttons on the controllers.

It looks fun, but is Miyamoto having issues with his controller? It looks like he’s having a hard time with the demo.

Miyamoto has terrible aim. He can’t even hit a single spider on the vine.

”Looks like we’re having a little interference here. Is anybody out there using wireless? Anybody?”

What…what are they trying to show? A beetle? What’s it do? This is just awkward.

They had “technical difficulties” due to wireless interference? But they’re asking people to try it out on the show floor.

I don’t know what really went down, but this Zelda presentation just wasn’t as good as it probably could have been. A shame.

I’d take a new Zelda with a standard gamecube controller any day over the wii controls.

 New Mario game?

Looks to be a Mario sports game for the Wii…volleyball, hockey, dodgeball…

”Mario Sports Mix” is “pure fun” according to Reggie. It’s due out next year.

Wii Party…an all new party game for Wii.

See, playing a dancing game with the Wii-mote just isn’t impressive after seeing Dance Central yesterday.

Golden Sun’s trailer is being shown. It’s for the Nintendo DS.

 New Goldeneye game!

Goldeneye for the Wii coming out this holiday season

Goldeneye for Nintendo 64 is probably the only shooter I ever sunk 50+ hours into. Excited about this.

Disney Epic Mickey - coming out this holiday season, only for the Wii.

Actually, the footage being shown for Epic Mickey looks pretty nice. Right now we’re seeing Ventureland, and Smee is there.

Okay, this game has my attention.

Epic Mickey will be on the show floor for those at E3 who are interested. You can try out paint and thinner for yourselves.

Hmm…Reggie talking about franchises fresh. Are we going to see some Pokemon?

Probably won’t, but I can dream right?

Looks like we’ll be seeing a new Kirby?

Kirby is made out of yarn now and in 2D. Looks pretty.

It’s called “Kirby’s Epic Yarn”…Kirby is taking on the appearance of space ships, tanks, and other objects.

Epic Mickey was followed by Kirby’s Epic Yarn…epic, epic, epic, epic.

Dragon Quest IX links you up with as many as three friends. In tag mode, the game “quietly adds characters.”

Metroid: Other M coming out late August. Being shown the trailer right now.

 Donkey Kong!

This new Donkey Kong game is a 2D side-scroller, apparently. Looks kind of similar to the Super NES games, but improved greatly.

It’s called “Donkey Kong Country Returns.” Not exactly shocking. It’ll be out this holiday season.

Oh, so we’re finally getting to the 3DS now, eh?

No glasses for the 3DS - Reggie announces “3D wherever you go.”

I’m slightly more interested in the 3DS now since there won’t be any glasses. I hate those things at movies.

Wow, that is one shiny DS.

There’s going to be only one touch screen, since “a touch screen and 3D screen do not get along very well.”

The Nintendo 3DS has two camera lenses on the outside. “What this means is you can also take photos and view them in 3D.”

Disney, Warner Bros. and Dreamworks - some of the games will be Disney’s Tangled and Dreamwork’s How to Train Your Dragon.

 Movies, not games. My bad.

So the new 3DS can play movies, take 3D photos as well as play games. Sounds pretty awesome so far.

Kid Icarus: Uprising trailer. Lots of old characters are returning during this conference, it seems.

The graphics are gorgeous, I think they just sold me a 3DS.

The 3D part will be shown on the show floor.

Kingdom Hearts! Nice! Can’t wait to see that on the 3DS.

And a Nintendogs sequel…that features cats. Lol.

I was really worried about the conference at first, but it really, really picked up.

Some closing statements from Reggie about Nintendo having “something for everyone.”

The 3DS commercial/trailer is pretty entertaining. Miyamoto just got sucked into the 3DS literally by a …. puppy?

Yep, that was totally awesome. Day 1 buy right there.

Lots of women coming out onto the stage all holding the 3DS in their hands.

The women are demonstrators, and will be working their way out to the audience to let them try out the 3DS right now.

And that’s a wrap of the Nintendo E3 Press Conference. That was pretty awesome.
