Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Coming in 2011

It’s been 10 years since the original and one massive downloadable game after than and now fighting fans are getting a brand spanking new Marvel vs. Capcom to spend hundreds of hours whomping each other in. As the biggest announcement at this year’s Capcom-only Captivate event in Hawaii, the publisher dropped this bombshell on an ever hungry media as well as a teaser trailer which you can find below. Rumor has it the new MvC game will feature updated Street Fighter IV style visuals, more characters than ever before, and who knows what else? It’s full title is Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds, so if the stories in fighting games are your thing, you can probably expect a whopper. What is known is that the game uses an advanced version of the MT Framework engine used in Lost Planet 2 and Resident Evil 5, the signature over the top fighting styles seen in former vs. games, and the triple team antics fans have grown accustomed to over the years. My guess is that this might just be as wildly popular as Street Fighter IV has been, and possibly moreso if it brings the comic nerds to the fighting platform as well.
