Because Atlus doesn’t have a European branch, Japanese games localized by them in the US must find a different publisher for PAL territories. This usually means long delays. For example, Shin Megami Tensei: Persona, Knights in the Nightmare, Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Endless Frontier, The Dark Spire, Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor, Crimson Gem Saga, and Demon’s Souls… etc. haven’t even been announced there. However, SouthPeak Games has decided to pick up 3D Dot Game Heroes for Europe, which is good news, as the game is scheduled to hit store shelves in May, the same time frame as Atlus in North America.

“They [Southpeak Games] also recognize the frustration of many European gamers to not get exciting releases until months after other regions, which is why we’re working closely together to deliver a simultaneous launch for North America and Europe,” said Tim Pivnicny, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Atlus.

The game, which is a retro throwback to such 8-bit classics as The Legend of Zelda and Dragon Quest, comes to the PlayStation 3 this spring on both sides of the pond.
