Turn Your Songs into Troops with Song Summoner and Song Summoner 2 for iPod/iPod Touch
Posted by Molotov Cupcake on December 1st, 2009
iPod owners were treated to the melodical charms of Square Enix’s portable pet project, Song Summoner, with the advent of games for the popular music device. However, with the advent of the iPod Touch and iPhone, support for games that depended on the click-wheel dwindled. Suddenly, it wasn’t about using a circular control area anymore. Thus, gamers expecting to nab this wholly underrated musical journey were dismayed, as there has been no re-release to support touchy-feely iPhone users.
Fortunately, that’s all going to change with the advent of both the original Song Summoner as well as its unreleased sequel, Song Summoner 2, on iTunes beginning December 3rd. Straight from the mouth of the game’s producer, Takehiro Ando, the sequel will be packaged in with the original game in order to get more bang for your buck. A set price is currently unknown at this time, but with this plucky little strategy RPG that utilizes songs on your iPod playlist to create soldiers in battle, even $9.99 would be an acceptable admission fee.
