Dante’s Inferno Demo Drops in December

dantes inferno screenElectronic Arts Inc. and Visceral Games want you to go to Hell.

…in their new game, Dante’s Inferno. The new action/adventure title is slated for a February 9th, 2010 release, but Visceral Games has recently announced that a demo will become available sometime in December for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles.

The demo will contain the first level of Dante’s Inferno, titled “Gates of Hell”. Players will be introduced to the core gameplay mechanics and the titular hero (seeing as how Dante’s Inferno is based on “The Divine Comedy“), as well as plot and thematic elements in game. The title will see Dante traverse through the nine levels of Hell, heading towards his inevitable fight against Lucifer.

As the executive producer of the game Jonathan Knight has said, “Our main goal from the start of this project has been to create a journey that will make gamers truly feel like they are going through hell.” I assume this statement was not meant literally, as Dante’s Inferno is shaping up to be one of next year’s most anticipated games.
