Mondays are depressing, even if we get the new WiiWare line-up, which this week included such awesomeness as Tales of Monkey Island: The Siege of Spinner Cay and Phantasy Star I, so to make us all feel better, Nintendo has given us a new round of announcements to help make our week go by a little faster.

First up: Have you wanted to get a DSi, but aqua and black just aren’t your thing? Well, you’re in luck: on September 13, you can get your grubby little hands on a one of two new shades: Hot Pink or White. Both new colors are still matte and will be available for the usual $169.99.

blackwiimotetcOn a roll with colors, it seems, Nintendo also unveiled a black Wiimote, nunchuck, and Wii MotionPlus, which will match perfectly with the black Wii you can’t even buy yet in the US. Hmm. I guess maybe you can pretend, or you could buy them as a way to analogously describe the significance of desegregation and the dangers of racism to your children. OK, so I may be going a little far here, but the revelation of these black controllers does give hope that we will see the black Wii console stateside some time soon. One bonus with the black Wiimote is it will come bundled with the black MotionPlus, although no prices have been yet announced for these. Look for these “Black is the new White” accessories this holiday.

Lastly, for you fitness nuts, the Wii Fit Plus has finally gotten a release date: October 3. That gives you a month to save up your pennies for the $99.99 bundle (which includes the balance board and the new game) or $19.99 for the stand-alone game, for those of you already with a dust-collecting balance board at home. Although, since the new game finally adds the ability to customize your work out, maybe you will use it like you swore you would.

And if that isn’t enough Nintendo goodness, the company recently announced that its Wii Internet Channel, previously 500 points ($5), will now be free for everyone. If you’ve already paid to download the channel, Nintendo will offer you a free NES game (I’m assuming via virtual console) to make up for it. The Wii Internet Channel uses the Opera browser (as does the DSi) to access the internet. If you want to get some more use out of your Wii, now is the perfect time to get the channel, in case Nintendo changes their mind and starts charging for it again.
