Dive Into the Dreams of DreamKiller

Posted by Tigresa on August 17th, 2009

Get ready to become super psychologist Alice Drake and delve into her patients’ vivid dreams. A new teaser trailer for DreamKiller was released today, a new horror-esque FPS being tagged now with a Holiday of 2009 release window. Still little is known about it, but there are some brief glimpses of gameplay in this teaser where the player is fighting some monstrous creatures in the dream world. It seems like most of the game will take place in that world. I am very much intrigued to see what kind of psychotic creature designs will come out of the minds of the developers at Mindware Studios. Check out the latest trailer below!

The concept seems interesting, but the gameplay videos left a lot to be desired. The graphics are really poor. I’d expect graphics like that on some nonexistent console between an N64 and a Gamecube.

I’m really hoping that is some super early gameplay demo. Like I said, I like the concept, but if the character models are going to be that inanimate, that’s going to be a deal-breaker for me.

It looks quite promising. I’m really loving the atmosphere and character designs, though the graphics do look a bit lacking. However I know we’ve all learned not to judge a book by its cover at some point…

I think the graphics look pretty tzight. They give it an old-school, overly-polished-because-we-can’t-render-that-many-polygons kind of feel. You know, like back in the day when everyone though super-smooth characters looked great until they realized that real people have wrinkles and miscellaneous imperfections.
