Gears fans, you might want to listen up! Have you always envied the armor that the COGs sport throughout the titles (even the poor younger Carmine)? It’s been revealed by Cliff Bleszinski and Rod Fergusson of Epic at at the Comic-Con 2009 panel that Gears of War armor will soon be coming to the Xbox Live Avatar Marketplace. Bring on the negativity, say that you don’t understand the reasoning behind spending cash on clothing for avatars you barely use, but as for me, this is quite a welcome change from fugly mismatched skirts and unnecessary Kanye glasses.

If you’re not digging the Coalition of Ordered Governments look, then you’ll be able to choose from a selection of Locust gear with which to adorn your dimunitive version of you. Unless, that is, you’re a man who uses a female avatar because you think it makes you “quirky.” Then you might wish to stick with those horrific, frumpy tops and skirts. At any rate, pricing has not yet been revealed on these little gems, but you can bet they’ll cost a small chunk of your hard-earned Microsoft Points. Personally, I couldn’t be happier. My avatar’s navy tube dress is wearing a bit thin on my patience. I’d be much more happy in gear from some great Xbox 360 titles. What about you?

Seeing how Microsoft is still using its stupid MS Points system and I get left over points that I can’t spend on anything, I might get the armor and the remote control warthog. For those of you who are gonna complain about people wasting money, why the hell do you care? It’s their money and they can do whatever they like.

Even though I agree on the idea that the current avatar wardrobe is terrible, I don’t see spending points on something like this if it has no baring. Hell, I don’t even think we should be bothered with the damn avatars anyway considering how useless they are.

But apparently, as with the recent release of Worms 2, MS is going to make you love the avatars whether you like it or not.

And I understand it’s not my place to gripe about OTHER people spending THEIR money on these, especially if they’re just cosmetic, but I still find the idea ridiculous.
