Professor Layton and the Curious Village has been one of the most successful DS games to date. It integrates fun, varied puzzles with an interesting mysterious adventure, and couples that with beautiful art.

While Japan has had several sequels, the U.S. and Europe have had to sit peacefully with only the original title. Professor Layton (as a series) will eventually have two trilogies; Japan already has the first complete trilogy, and the first game of the second (entitled The Devil’s Flute). However, it was recently announced that the second two games in the first trilogy will be coming to the US and Europe soon.

Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box is currently undergoing localization and translation, with a slated release window of about six months. The Last Time Travel, the third in the first trilogy, has not been given a US/Europe release date as of yet, but expect an announcement soon. The series has been such a success that a feature film may be in the works, in addition to future video game titles.

Great, another game about how chicks and wolves can’t coexist peacefully. Damn you, Professor Layton!

…He is one stylish dude, though.

I love Prof Layton but some of those puzzles were damn hard! And even if I input the right answer on the 2nd or 3rd try it would keep telling my wrong answer! Just a bug in my copy or has this happened to anyone else? I have t say though, I literally didn’t put down my DS until I was finished!
